Kayla's Coffee Chat - Community Spotlight

This week's community spotlight is quickly becoming the go-to voice for locals and visitors, alike. You may have seen her video reviews of local coffee spots on Facebook, Instagram and/or TikTok... Let's give it up for Kayla at Kayla's Coffee Chat!!
Her love for content creation started in high school, long before Kayla's Coffee Chat was conceptualized. For her, it's the perfect creative outlet - planning the content, filming and editing, it's satisfying to see it all come together. Unfortunately, as it tends to go, circumstances changed and she found herself having to take a step back to focus on life's changes. However, once things evened out, she felt that familiar creative pull of content creation, she just wasn't sure which direction she wanted to go. That uncertainty was short-lived, thankfully (especially for us!).
After watching a friend's review of Black Cat Bakery in Moorhead and reading through the comments, she was struck by how many people are unaware of the gems in our area - it's no wonder why so many small businesses close. That's when inspiration struck. There are many people that review local businesses and restaurants, making our community aware of their existence and location, but a noticeable gap in people reviewing beverages. Thus begins the journey of Kayla's Coffee Chat.
That was over six months ago, with her first review being Froth Coffeehouse. Since then, she has reviewed over two dozen coffee stops, and added in interviews with other local content creators and personalities - one of which was Sophia Richards, Ms. North Dakota USA, herself!! Her goal is to bring awareness to the wonderful places and people we have in the area, and create community connections, all over a Cup of Joe!
Coming up soon, she will be co-hosting a 3-day collaboration where a portion of proceeds will go to Excellerate Youth, a local nonprofit that supports teens that are aging out of the foster system.
