Are you ever feeling petty, but not like full petty, just Kinda Petty? Digital artist and business owner, Mary W. feels the same way sometimes, too.

It's been said that there are no limits to a mother's love, and this business and artistic endeavor is a perfect example of this. Mary started this venture late 2025 in support of her son, Jacobi, who who has a learning disability and struggles with anxiety, which have led and contributed to the development of agoraphobia.
If you're unfamiliar with agoraphobia, it is the fear of places or situations in which it is difficult to remove yourself. As you can imagine, all of this combined can make it difficult to develop the soft skills necessary to navigate the work force.
Having started a "Sticker of the Month" club with a group of coworkers at her day job, she decided to employ her skills in digital design and start her own online store, Kinda Petty, where they sell "Shirts, stickers, soap, and accessories designed to add personality to your everyday life." All of her design products are printed through Lake Shirts and their signature soap, Pink Petty Punch, was designed by Nature's Embrace, both located in Detroit Lakes.

So far, their business is doing well and expanding quickly, as has her son's confidence and skills, as he has taken on a more creative role in product and website design, and a more active role at different local events. If you're interested in showing off your Kinda Petty side and supporting a local mama supporting her child in growing and thriving, be sure to check out their shop at kindapetty.net and follow along on Facebook for updates on new product launches!
